Q: Yahtzee? Is that the game with all the lettered die? You know, you shake it and then spell words?

A: No that’s Boggle.

Q: Yahtzee? I haven’t played Yahtzee in years.

A: That’s not a question.

Q: I’ve never played Yahtzee before, is there someone who can show me the ropes?

A: We have a team of experienced Yahtzee instructors; all trained in both the WT and WOT techniques at the Yahtzee Institute of America.  They will be happy to assist you.

Q: What are the WT and WOT?

A: The WT and WOT are different schools of thought (or factions) within the Yahtzee community regarding Yahtzee For Beer and the 3K rule.  In the WT two die are given, the receiver(s) must roll and drink the sum of the pair.  In the WOT two die are given, the receiver(s) must roll and drink the sum of the pair unless doubles are rolled. In which case the die go back to the roller who must drink the sum of the pair.

Q: Why WT and WOT

A: The are acronyms for With Tony and With Out Tony respectively.  I think you know what side of the fence I come down on.

Q: The WOT rule sounds like a fun twist on the original YFB (Yahtzee For Beer) rules. Why don’t we all play that way?

A: Because I am a bitter, stubborn and angry little man.

Q: I’ve heard stories about wild drunkenness and nudity. Is this what I can expect at this years tournament?

A: Depends.

Q: On what?

A: On whether you want wild drunkenness and nudity or not.

Q: Oh, well then, I guess I do.

A: Then you won’t be disappointed.

Q: Right Boggle, well what’s the game with the letters on all the tiles? Is that Yahtzee?

A: Nope.  Scrabble.  I’ll kick your ass at that too.

Q: Isn’t it all just the luck of the roll?

A: What!?  Sure luck has something to do with it.  The same way gravity has something to do with keeping the dice on the table.  Who are you and why do you insist on bothering me?  In Yahtzee and in life luck has some bearing on the eventual outcome.  But in life our choices are the defining elements in the end.  The same can be said for Yahtzee; it’s all in your choices.  If you make the right choices, you’ll win in the end and that has nothing to do with luck.

Q: What’s Bob Shaw really like?

A: Hairy.

Q: 26 years is a long ass time.

A: Is that a question or a statement?  Wait, don’t answer that.  I don’t give a rip.
